A new beginning Episode 4

 We returned from Guatemala to the State of New York on March 11, 2023. Even processing everything that happened on the trip, anxiety and many questions came back regarding the following steps to take to go to the state of Florida. I returned to Puerto Rico to organize some things and manage a document that was key to finalizing all the documentation for the hospital in Florida.

The reality is that I didn't even have the slightest idea where I was going to stay; I didn't have anyone there. I was going for a dream, to finally have the economy that I always dreamed of, even when one of the pastors from Guatemala told me to pray to God to help me. He asked if I desired to return to Guatemala and serve for a longer time, but the first thing that went through my head was, “I don't think so; Florida is waiting for me!! Also, with the money I will earn, I can even donate money to the mission in Guatemala, send money to my mother, have my little house, and send money to my family in El Salvador; everything is perfect.” What I didn't know was that God would change my course.     Having dreams and goals is not bad, especially when it has to do with helping others, but I have been learning in this process to leave everything, absolutely EVERYTHING, in the hands of the Lord and trust. As you read these lines, your human part will say: this is ridiculous, difficult, impossible, like missing out on a great opportunity!! But I want you to know that it was also what I thought. Still, I have decided to close my eyes, turn off my ears to those voices that tell me all this, and be able to hear the voice of God clearly and just walk and trust that wherever I go Wow, I want to be light in the midst of darkness and fulfill your purpose in my life.

Two weeks passed after returning to Puerto Rico, and I received the call confirming why this document for Florida became very difficult. Mommy's cousin told me these words: wouldn't you like to go to do an internship in Guatemala for a month... I laughed, not out of mockery but because the crazy thing is that I felt PEACE when she told me, and I said that if it is God's will, He will make provision as he did on the first trip. God began to put people in my path with donations from people who, to this day, I have not met in person.

And it was on April 29 that I traveled to Guatemala for a month for my first internship.

    While studying missions in a school in Pennsylvania, I couldn't imagine all the connecting pieces and why this was happening.  I graduated from High school and wanted to become a Doctor, but at that time, I was playing softball and got injured, so I could not continue playing anymore.        Mientras estudiaba misiones en una escuela en Pensilvania, no podía imaginar todas las piezas que estaban por unirse y por qué estaba sucediendo esto.  Me gradué de preparatoria (high school) y quería ser médico, pero en ese momento, estaba jugando softball y me lesioné, por lo que no pude seguir jugando. Estaba muy frustrada y perdí la esperanza de obtener una beca. Mi tío me habló de esta escuela ministerial, y yo dije: "Bueno, vamos a intentarlo". Hice 3 años, y el último año fue mi internado.        Iban a enviar estudiantes a diferentes lugares, y uno de ellos era Guatemala; Yo estaba como: "Soy la única chica que habla español, así que definitivamente voy". En cambio, me enviaron a Nueva York. Por supuesto, estaba molesta, pero Dios estaba trabajando con mi carácter. First Internship ( chapter 5)

     On April 29, 2023, I traveled back to Guatemala, only this time, to intern on a mission for a month. To be able to go back, I needed money. I started doing some fundraisers, selling accessories, worked as a caregiver; I even got to sing in some places to get the money. I was trying to do everything independently and not depend on anybody, but the Lord reminded me constantly that I must rely entirely on him.           When I got to the airport in Guatemala, I got a ride with a group that was also coming to do a short-term mission trip for a week. Only God could know the connection I was going to have with them. As soon as we got on the bus, we started talking, laughing, and making jokes like we had known each other for a long time. God always puts people in our path to bless our lives and vice versa. Also, sometimes we meet people who can be a little hard to deal with, but the Lord helps us to trust more and more in him.   ...
